PLATO WRAPS: A Dagupan-Born Business
Unknown to many, the now-ubiquitous Plato Wraps was a business born in the City of Dagupan in Pangasinan.
It all started when Jong and Tony Seen thought of creating an original product of Panaderia Antonio. Plato Wraps became an instant hit as many people fell in line and discovered this affordable snack. Soon after, they opened Plato Wraps’ first kiosk in SM Megamall, which became very successful. Before the pandemic hit, Plato Wraps could be found all over the Philippines through its many franchises. Jong and Tony’s daughter, Kreme, currently runs the business as its General Manager. The brand name was coined by Kreme’s grandfather, Eddie Crisologo, who observed that the wrap was shaped like a plate (or plato in Filipino).
Plato Wraps’ best sellers include their Chunky Chicken Wrap (Php62), Ham and Cheese Wrap (Php60), Yummy Tuna (Php65), Peri Peri Latino (Php85), and Wrap and Roll (Php58).
